A unique Treetop walk among the spruce peaks and stunning view of the world famous heart-shaped trail
Trip Details
We will begin our day by visiting the pre-Alpine hill Pohorje rich in coniferous forests. Our goal is Rogla, the 1.517 m (4.977 ft) high peak. In fact, we will go even higher by going to Treetop Walk Pohorje.
This is a whole new and unique experience of the forest and the connection with nature. This will be literally walk among the richcrowns of the trees, 20 m (65 ft) above the ground. We will then ascend a 37 m (121 ft) high viewing tower, which offers a spectacular 360° view of near and far surroundings (the combined path length is 1 km (0,6 mi)).
After approximately one hour we will conclude our unforgettable contact with nature with a delicious lunch and enjoy the superb local food.
Our trip will be continued to Maribor, the second-largest city in Slovenia and the capital city of the historic Styria (Štajerska) region. Styria is together with the Prekmurje region one of the three wine countrys of Slovenia. A short walk through the city will take us to the banks of the Drava River, where we will visit the house of the oldest vine in the world. It is more than 400 years old and published in the Guiness Book of Records. It still exuberantly spreads all over the front side of the house and enriches its facade from spring until autumn.
We will continue our trip literally into the heart of the vineyards, which is located near the border with our neighbouring country Austria. Our destination is Špicnik, where we will walk on the heart-shaped road and enjoy one of the most renowned attractions in Slovenia.
With beautiful views along with excellent local food and wine we will conclude our day trip.
We will return to Ljubljana in the late afternoon.
