On the second day we have two options:
- either we will have a trip to Bled, where you will have the entire day to enjoy this beautiful Slovenian Alpine pearl
- or we can combine your visit of Bled with trip to Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle. Thus, in one day you will visit both of Slovenia’s greatest tourist attractions.
If you decide to choose the first option than the second day of your travel is dedicated to visit one of Slovenia’s biggest attractions, the pearl of Slovenia – Bled and its world-famous Bled Lake and Bled Island. After a great breakfast we will meet up in the hotel lobby to take you on exciting adventure and explore the magic of Bled and its surroundings.
We will begin our day by taking a lovely walk through the Vintgar gorge*, which is a wonderful natural attraction located approximately 4 km (2.4 mi) from Bled. The path through the canyon will lead you along a 1.6 km (1 mi) long wooden footbridge, led over the emerald green river Radovna. Our morning walk will conclude with a short coffee break during which you will enjoy a delicious cream cake called “kremšnita”. This famous cream cake has been enthusing visitors to Bled ever since 1953 when it was first made.
Than you will embark on a traditional boat called “pletna”. This unique experience will take you from the shores of Lake Bled to Bled Island with it’s beautiful historical church and you will feel as guests who have been visiting Bled for 100 years and more.
After visiting the island it will be time for lunch in a nice restaurant by the lake with wonderful view of the sights of Bled and wonderful nature.
You will also enjoy Bled from a bird’s eye view when you reach the Bled Castle. From the top of the castle you will have the breath-taking view of the island, lake and their surroundings. Truly as in a fairy tale!
You can spend the rest of the afternoon in Bled according to your wishes. You have a variety of options and activities, and of course we will be happy to help you choose the right one for you.
We will return to Ljubljana in the late afternoon.
*Due to weather conditions, the Vintgar gorge is officially open to visitors from the end of April until late October. When the gorge is closed, we offer you a sightseeing of Radovljica, a lovely medieval town near by Bled; sightseeing includes a visit to the Gingerbread Workshop.
